Co-op adopts HIV infected children

The Hindu reports the city-based Shree Tirupati Multi-purpose Souhard Sahakari has adopted children affected with HIV sheltered with Nandan Makkal Dham, a non-government charitable organisation at Sadashiv Nagar in Belagavi.

According to Chairman of the co-operative society, Manjunath Bhute , there are 35 HIV affected children under the care of the charitable organization , which was finding it difficult to provide adequate food and nutrition to the children due to paucity of funds. Hence, the board of the co-operative society decided to do its bit and adopt all the 35 children for one year from April.

President of the charitable organization Mahantesh Mali thanked the co-operative society and said its support would mean nutritious food to the children at the centre.
