CICTAB hosts crucial meetings at VAMNICOM

The Centre for International Cooperation and Training in Agricultural Banking (CICTAB) successfully conducted its 56th Managing Committee Meeting and 25th General Council Meeting at the prestigious VAMNICOM campus in Pune.

These high-level meetings are pivotal to steering the strategic direction of CICTAB’s initiatives in agricultural banking and cooperative development across South Asia.

The Managing Committee meeting was chaired by Pankaj Kumar Bansal, IAS, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation (MoC), Government of India. The General Council meeting was presided over by Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani, IAS, Secretary, MoC, reaffirming the Government of India’s commitment to strengthening regional cooperation in the cooperative sector.

The meetings witnessed participation from senior representatives of CICTAB’s member institutions, including the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI), NAFSCOB, IFFCO, NABARD, IRMA, CAB-RBI, and NIRD&PR.

International representatives from NCC Sri Lanka, Department of Cooperative Development (Sri Lanka), CCULB Bangladesh, and NRB Nepal were also present, showcasing a spirit of cross-border collaboration.

Key discussions centered on capacity building, training programs, and joint initiatives to foster sustainable agricultural finance and cooperative governance in the region.
