Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held high-level meetings at Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi, to review the functioning of the Agriculture and Rural Development ministries and the farmers’ complaint portal. Officials reported complaints related to fertilisers, seeds, pesticides, PM-Fasal Bima Yojana, and the PM Kisan Portal.
Key issues include high prices, poor-quality seeds, Nano Urea tagging, and counterfeit pesticides. Of 150 pesticide complaints, 120 have been addressed, FIRs filed in 11 cases, and 24 farmers compensated.
Chouhan directed officials to ensure farmers’ satisfaction before closing complaints, set strict timelines, identify slow-response states, and reward efficient officers. He also suggested daily feedback from state nodal officers to improve complaint resolution.
