Despite adverse prevailing economic factors, the Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Cooperative (Campco) has made a net profit of Rs. 19.15 crore in 2015-16 against a net profit of Rs. 40.57 crore in 2014-15, reports Business Line.
It had a turnover of Rs.1,591 crore during 2015-16 against Rs. 1,547 crore in 2014-15.
Campco , Managing Director, told the news outlet there was not much fluctuation in the price of arecanut during 2015-16 compared to the previous fiscal.
With around 97,800 members, Campco has presence in Karnataka and Kerala. It has begun exporting its product to China.
