The Pioneer reports Congress has denied BJP’s claim that cooperative sugar mills in the Kawardha region in Chhattisgarh are not procuring sugarcane from farmers in the current 2018-19 season.
Sources close to Congress described BJP’s charge as a tissue of lies. Both Bhoramdeo Cooperative Sugar Mill and Sardar Patel Sugar Mill of the Kawardha region are doing fine, they claimed.
Citing facts and figures, Congress asserted that cooperative sugar mills are doing well on all parameters such as sugarcane procurement, sugar production, power production and making payment to the sugarcane growers.
