The Co-operative Department has suspended Rajinder Singh, secretary, Chhateana Co-operative Society, for allegedly siphoning off Rs 30 lakh during his tenure as secretary of the Gidderbaha Co-operative Society, reports the Tribune.
Rajan, Assistant Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Gidderbaha, said, “As of now, the fraud of Rs 30 lakh has been detected and a number of farmers have lodged complaints against Rajinder.
His three-acre land and a residence have been attached for the recovery of this amount.
