The Kerala High Court granted bail to Boby Chemmanur, promoter of Malankara Multi-State Co-operative Credit Society, arrested in a sexual harassment case filed by a Malayalam actor.
The court noted that Chemmanur’s passport was surrendered to ensure his availability for investigation. Despite objections from the prosecution, citing inappropriate social media posts, the court highlighted his judicial custody since January 9 had already sent a message.
The case stems from an August 2024 incident during a jewellery showroom inauguration in Kannur. Chemmanur denies the allegations. Detailed bail order pending.
