In an unheard of move, the Chandigarh State Cooperative Bank has decided to reserve 85% of future job vacancies for city residents, media reports say.
Of this, 15% will be specifically earmarked for original inhabitants of Chandigarh’s villages.
The policy, approved by the bank’s Board chaired by Satinderpal Singh Sidhu, applies across all recruitment types, regular, contractual, part-time, and outsourced.
The remaining 15% will prefer candidates from Punjab and Haryana. The Board also cleared a revised loan policy and approved upgrading its Sector-22 branch for better service.
