Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha, informed that the Ministry of Cooperation has significantly expanded cooperative training and financial assistance in Telangana over the last five years.
Training programmes are being conducted regularly through the National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT) via Regional Institutes of Cooperative Management (RICMs) and Institutes of Cooperative Management (ICMs).
According to the Ministry, a total of 20,636 participants from various cooperative sectors in Telangana were trained between 2020–21 and 2024–25, with the numbers rising sharply in 2023–24 when 9,448 members underwent training.
The Minister further highlighted that the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) has extended substantial financial assistance for infrastructure and business development of cooperatives in Telangana. Between FY 2020–21 and 2025–26 (till 31 October 2025), NCDC disbursed Rs 62,416.95 crore, with major allocations made for marketing, service cooperatives, fisheries, dairy and livestock.
As per the National Cooperative Database, 276 multipurpose cooperatives, including 174 dairy and 102 fishery cooperatives, have been registered in Telangana since February 2023.
Shah also reiterated the Centre’s reform-driven agenda under “Sahakar-Se-Samriddhi”, including Model Bye-laws enabling PACS to take up 25+ business activities, formation of FPOs/FFPOs for better market linkage, and the launch of White Revolution 2.0 to boost milk procurement by 50% over five years.
