The National Cooperative Policy aims to encourage the effective utilization of funds available in the Cooperative Education Fund (CEF) maintained by the Central and State Governments, as well as other Ministries of the Government of India.
These funds will be directed towards cooperative training, skill development, and the creation of high-quality, cooperative-specific academic content in various Indian languages, tailored for different levels and types of cooperative-related courses.
The policy also proposes to establish a national-level body that will create a pan-India network of existing education and training institutes/centres in the cooperative sector through an affiliation system.
This body will regulate important aspects such as teacher recruitment, admission criteria, course content and curriculum, examinations, and other academic standards to ensure uniformity and quality across cooperative education institutions.
