During the election process of AP Mahesh Cooperative Urban Bank Ltd., questions arose regarding member eligibility, specifically, who was entitled to vote and who could contest for the Board of Directors.
The matter was examined by the Co-operative Election Authority under the provisions of the Multi State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002. After detailed review, the Authority observed that the bank had not amended its bye-laws in line with the master circular.
In view of this, the CEA made it clear that the bank had not amended their Bye-Laws in terms of the master circular; therefore, the Returning Officer was asked to decide on the matter at his end as per the provisions of the Bye-Laws of the bank.
