The election for six Board of Director seats of The Central Arecanut & Cocoa Marketing & Processing Cooperative Ltd. (CAMPCO) under the Karnataka General C-Class category is being held today at Sharada Vidyalaya, Kodialbail, Mangaluru. Polling began at 8:00 AM and will continue till 4:00 PM.
A total of 5,576 C-Class voters and 75 A&B Class voters from both Karnataka and Kerala are eligible to vote. Eight candidates are contesting for the six seats.
The Ministry of Cooperation and the Cooperative Election Authority had earlier notified elections for 19 Board positions—10 from Karnataka and 9 from Kerala. While other categories have completed polling, the Karnataka C-Class General category remained pending, necessitating today’s election.
The counting of votes will be held on November 25 at CAMPCO’s Head Office in Mangaluru. The results will play a key role in shaping CAMPCO’s next leadership.
