The high-profile Cooperation Minister of the state of Bihar Alok Mehta has got caught up in an unseemly controversy. Mehta’s name is said to belong to the list of people who called Parmeshwar Ram, secretary of Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC), recommending their candidates for govt jobs.

Earlier, the IAS officers of the state ganged against the state govt when the Chairman of BSSC-Sudhir Kumar an IAS officer was arrested from Hazaribagh last month on charges of spearheading the scam said to run into multi-crore.

When the Special Investigation Team searched the mobile messages of Secretary Ram it was found that several influencial persons have contacted him. This included Alok Mehta also who misses no chance of particparting in any co-operative function that takes place in the state.

Mehta , meanwhile has tried to play brave and have reportedly said ” Why is there so much of fuss over the issue. We make recommendation calls to officials. People come to us with request and we make calls. I am ready for any kind of probe in the matter,”.

Besides legislators belong to all parties including BJP, those contacting Ram also mentions the name of another Minister Krishna Nandan Verma, law minister in the state.

The names of former RJD MP Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, BJP MLA from Muzaffarpur, Suresh Sharma and Ram Balak, JD-U MLA from Bibhutipur have also figured as callers to Ram.
