Indian Express quotes Amul MD R.S. Sodhi saying with a view to claiming a share of the Rs 2,000-crore organic food market in the country, Amul will soon launch organic “aata”, rice, honey, chocolates and potato products.

Amul will also establish a “green college” at Anand to make young farmers aware of the importance of organic and natural farming.

Sodhi said this to Indian Express while taking part in a two-day brainstorming session organized by the govt, cooperative dept and SPIPA in Ahmedabad.

According to Sodhi, Amul is putting all necessary facilities in place including a testing laboratory prior to entering the organic food market.
