Boosting dairy co-ops: NCDFI team calls on minister

Cooperators connected to National Cooperative Dairy Federation of India (NCDFI) made a courtesy call on Giriraj Singh, Union Minister of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries. The team apprised the Minister of various activities undertaken by the NCDFI-the apex body of dairy cooperatives in the country.

Giving details of the meeting NCDFI’s Managing Director Kishore Supekar said that the meeting was primarily a courtesy call to pay respect to Singh after he took over as the minister.

The team was led by our Chairman Mangal Jit Ram. “We briefed the minister about our activities. Soon, we would go with a delegation drawn from our member organizations and give a thorough presentation to him”, said Supekar who is active also on the social media spreading awareness related to the dairy sector.

It bears recall that headquartered in Anand, NCDFI has all the popular brands such as Amul, Sudha, Sanchi or Nandini as its members. It’s members include federal dairy cooperatives of states and union territories. The NCDFI has 19 Regular Members, 11 Associate Members and National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) as its Institutional Members.

Primary objective of NCDFI is to facilitate the working of dairy cooperatives through coordination, networking and advocacy. It also aims at spreading awareness about topics such as clean milk programs, productivity of animals, artificial insemination, ration balancing, etc. NCDFI is arranging Training Programs across the country for
farmers and AI technicians.
