BJP’s J&K manifesto  talks of strengthening co-op movement

Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the BJP’s manifesto for the 2024 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls, declaring enhancing the horticultural product processing and marketing cooperative structure in Jammu & Kashmir.

The manifesto reads, “We will enhance the horticultural product processing and marketing cooperative in Jammu & Kashmir, along the lines of the successful Himachal Pradesh Horticultural Produce Marketing And Processing Corporation which will empower local farmers, enhance their income and ensure the growth of the horticulture industry,” it said.

It further added, “We will launch a scheme to increase the number of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) in Jammu & Kashmir to 600, to strengthen agricultural collaboration and to provide holistic support to the farmers”.the manifesto stated.

“We will facilitate easy access to credit at low interest rates for farmers, with special loan schemes for small and marginal farmers to invest in modern farming practices”, the manifesto added.
