Indian Express reports Barrackpore Police in Kolkata searched the residence of BJP MP Arjun Singh in North 24 Parganas district allegedly involved in the Rs 12 crore scam in Bhatpara Naihati Cooperative Bank.
A complaint had been filed against the BJP MP and his son for their involvement in cheating and misappropriation of funds.
However, the MP said he is TMC’s prime target and he is being harassed for political reasons.
It bears recalling during 2017, when Singh was the Chairman of Bhatpara Municipality, he had allegedly issued a work order to a company, which received nearly Rs 4.5 crore from the civic body without doing any work.
