Biscomaun Chairman lambasts leaders for ignoring farmers

Cursing the current leadership for ignoring the plight of farmers in the wake of demonetization Biscomaun Chairman said in the time of sowing, both seeds and DAPs are required but a farmer cannot buy them for want of cash in the prevailing confusion.

He demanded that like a traveler at the railway station and a patient in the hospital, farmers should also be allowed to buy his requirements from cooperative stores furnishing his credentials.” I do not mean to say that security measures should be done away with. Govt can put a limitation on the number of urea bags a farmer can buy”, said Sunil.

Urea is sold at Rs 301 by the Biscoamun and as such the issue of change has haunted both the poor farmers as well as the cooperative federation. Biscoamuan Chairman demanded that all vyapar mandals and cooperative bodies be allowed to sell on the basis of old currency till the matter settles down.

“My blood boils when I see people discussing problems arising from demonetization in ensuring marriages or other petty family or social functions but no one is bothered about farmers for whom this is a peak season”, said Sunil Singh.

Leaders are busy converting their black money into white with little concern for the farmers; if they venture out in villages they would be roasted alive, said Sunil whose cooperative federation does brisk business selling IFFCO’s urea.
