Birla ties up with GOI for fertilizer plant in MP

ties upK.K.Birla Group will soon set up an urea and ammonia fertiliser plant in a village called Khavasa in Jhabua in MP. The plant will cost about Rs. 5,150 crore.

Covering 206 hectare of land, the plant is expected to give jobs to over 1500 people from the locality. The important fact about the project is that it will be in the joint sector, with India govt holding 20 percent share and the balance by the company.

The latter has already got itself registered with Industrial Assistance Secretariat.

The Birla group has chosen Jhabua because the land was easily available here and the place has a major railway station with rake point not far from the plant site. Sources say the unit will encourage industrialization in the area as also check migration.
