The Bankers Institute of Rural Development (BIRD), Kolkata organised a two-day in-house training programme titled “Onboarding to RBI Integrated Ombudsman Scheme for Rural Cooperative Banks” last week.
The programme aimed to familiarise officials of rural cooperative banks with the procedures for onboarding to the RBI Integrated Ombudsman Scheme and to enhance awareness of customer rights and grievance redressal mechanisms.
The training sessions were conducted by the Programme Directors, Sudyumna Pal and Dr Bhawana Pal, Faculty Member (FM), who provided detailed insights into regulatory requirements, operational processes, and best practices related to the scheme.
Participants actively engaged in discussions and practical sessions to gain a better understanding of their roles and responsibilities under the Ombudsman framework, reinforcing the importance of transparency and effective grievance handling in rural cooperative banking.
