Minister of Cooperation Dr Prem Kumar conducted a detailed review of cooperative schemes, highlighting key progress and future directions. Officials reported that 124 micro ATMs were distributed to PACS and Rs 47.52 crore disbursed to 1,680 groups under the JLG scheme, media reports say.
Addressing district bank officials and cooperative representatives via video conferencing, the minister stressed the need to modernize cooperative banks, reduce NPAs, and boost deposits.
He directed the launch of a panchayat-level account opening campaign under the Sahyog Mein Sahakar Abhiyan. Dr Kumar also urged speedy completion of pending land acquisition and boundary wall work for cooperative banks and reviewed proposals for a new Central Cooperative Bank.
