Bihar launches Statewide PACS Training

Bihar’s cooperative department has launched a statewide training and study tour programme to strengthen Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and enhance rural service delivery, media reports say.

Cooperation Minister Dr Pramod Kumar flagged off the first batch of 25 PACS presidents and managers from Patna district for a model visit in Nalanda. Senior officials, including Secretary Dharmendra Singh and Registrar Rajneesh Kumar Singh, attended the launch.

The initiative aims to improve governance, transparency and income generation by exposing PACS leaders to successful, diversified cooperative models across districts. Participants will receive practical training in leadership, financial management, legal provisions and project execution.

The government expects the programme to encourage innovation, expand business activities and ensure faster, improved services for farmers, ultimately making Bihar’s cooperative sector stronger, self-reliant and more competitive.
