Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Secretary of the Ministry of Cooperation, chaired a meeting of the Cooperative Education Fund Committee to discuss and evaluate various proposals.
The meeting was attended by key figures, including Pankaj Kumar Bansal, Additional Secretary, MoC; Anand Kumar Jha, Joint Secretary, CRCS; Dr. U.S. Awasthi, Managing Director of IFFCO; Dr. Hema Yadav, Director of VAMNICOM; and Mukesh Dave, Managing Director of NCEL.
A participant informed Indian Cooperative that the meeting reviewed and scrutinized proposals submitted by several multi-state cooperative societies, among other agenda items.
It’s worth noting that previously, the apex body of cooperatives, NCUI, was the main custodian of the Cooperative Education Fund.
However, after the formation of the new Ministry of Cooperation, the MSCS Act was amended to transfer custodianship of the Cooperative Education Fund to the Ministry of Cooperation.
