Bharat Taxi begins Soft Launch in Delhi

Marking a transformative moment for India’s cooperative movement in the mobility sector, Bharat Taxi (Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited), a first-of-its-kind cooperative-driven national ride-hailing platform, has begun its soft launch in Delhi in collaboration with the Delhi Traffic Police.

The services have commenced from key transit hubs including the Delhi Airport, ISBTs, and major railway stations, supported by dedicated booking booths for on-ground customer service.

The initiative aims to establish a people-owned, equitable, and sustainable mobility model, offering safe, reliable, and affordable rides while ensuring dignity and fair income for drivers, referred to as ‘Saarthis’. During the soft launch, Bharat Taxi will collect passenger feedback and fine-tune its digital operations for a seamless, customer-centric experience.

In partnership with the Delhi Traffic Police, Bharat Taxi has digitized all prepaid booth Saarthis, integrating them with its secure ride-booking app. The move ensures transparent payments, return fare benefits for traditional black-and-yellow taxis, and equal earning opportunities.

A joint Command and Control Centre-manned by Bharat Taxi and Delhi Police-will monitor rides in real time, ensuring 24/7 passenger safety and swift response to any incident.

Promoted by leading cooperative institutions including NCDC, IFFCO, GCMMF (Amul), KRIBHCO, NAFED, NABARD, NDDB, and NCEL, Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Ltd. embodies the vision of “Sahakar se Samriddhi” and the Government’s Digital India mission.

With verified drivers, transparent systems, and a cooperative ownership model, Bharat Taxi is set to redefine mobility through safety, technology, and shared prosperity.
