Beating virus: Bihar State Co-op Bank donates Rs 1 cr

Once again, there is news about a cooperative society engaging in philanthropy. The apex bank of Bihar DCCBs-Bihar State Cooperative Bank announced a donation of Rs one crore to the Bihar CM Relief Fund for Covid-19 relief measures.

The news was shared by Bihar Cooperative Minister Rana Randhir Singh with the media. He said, “On Thursday Bihar State Cooperative Bank has announced to give a donation of Rs One crore from the dividend to the CM Relief Fund for supporting the state government’s fight against coronavirus”.

” I thank the Bank’s Chairman Ramesh Chandra Chaubey and their board members for taking the initiative”, he added.

The state Chief Minister had appealed for support from all sections of society to contribute to the CMRF to provide humanitarian help to the affected people.

The number of coronavirus cases has climbed to 649 in India on Thursday and the death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 13, with one death reported each from Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh, according to the Health Ministry.

Maharashtra reported three deaths, Gujarat two, while Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Karnataka,Punjab, Delhi, West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh reported one death each.
