The election process for the board of Baroda District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd (Baroda Dairy) became clearer after the completion of the candidate withdrawal stage. Out of the 13 seats, nine candidates were elected unopposed, while four seats will witness a direct contest.
Among the prominent contests, Parthiv Patel, son of APMC leader Shailesh Patel, will face Hitesh Patel. In the Jetpur Pavi constituency, Ranjit Rathwa is set to compete against Gemal Rathwa.
Voting for the contested seats is scheduled to take place on March 18.
With the majority of seats already decided without a contest, observers believe the current leadership may have an edge, though the results from the four remaining seats will ultimately determine the final composition of the dairy cooperative’s governing board.
