Ministry of Cooperation Additional Secretary Pankaj Kumar Bansal chaired the Monthly review meeting with representatives from States and Union Territories to assess the progress of key cooperative initiatives across the country on Wednesday.
The review focused on several critical areas, including the deployment and status of cooperative interns, the implementation of the “Cooperation Among Cooperatives” campaign, and various financial inclusion initiatives.
These included the appointment of Primary Dairy Cooperative Societies (PDCS) as Bank Mitras, distribution of mobile ATMs (mATMs), promotion of digital transactions, new account openings, deposit mobilization, and issuance of RuPay Kisan Credit Cards (KCCs).
The meeting specifically reviewed the performance and updates from States/UTs such as Rajasthan, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Manipur, Goa, Puducherry, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Also in attendance were Sanjeev Kumar and Kapil Meena, both Directors in the Ministry of Cooperation, along with senior ministry officials and key stakeholders from the cooperative sector. The discussions emphasized enhancing synergy among cooperatives to foster rural development and strengthen financial inclusion through grassroots-level institutions.
