Equating the earth and soil with mother IFFCO MD exhorted his followers to treat them as delicately as one does to his mother. He wanted everybody to take a pledge to reduce the use of chemical fertilizer so that the mother earth is not pressured unnecessarily.
Awasthi conveyed this by tweeting “Let’s take a pledge on #Mothers Day to think of mother #earth, #soil. Reduce the use of #Urea & do balanced use of #fertilisers in our farms.”
IFFCO has been fighting the excessive use of urea in the farm fields. MD as well as several of IFFCO Directors have been making efforts to save the soil from the dangerous erosion caused by the excessive use of chemical fertilizers. They have been touring areas after areas to bring about this awareness in the farming communities.
In the save our soil campaign IFFCO with its offices located in all parts of the country and its member societies counting more than 30 thousand are active enlightening farmers on the perils of the excessive use of urea, said one of the IFFCO officials.
