Awareness program boosts fisheries development in Tripura
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A transformative awareness program on PMMSY (Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana), FIDF (Fisheries and Aquaculture Infrastructure Development Fund), and LIFIC was recently held in South Tripura, bringing together 380 fishermen and 50 government officials.

Inaugurated by Smt. Swapna Mazumdar, Chairman of the Municipal Council, Santir Bazar, the event focused on empowering the fisheries sector and promoting sustainable development. The initiative aims to enhance fishermen’s livelihoods, strengthen fisheries infrastructure, and boost aquaculture through key government schemes and policies.

With PMMSY driving sustainable fisheries management and increased fish production, and FIDF supporting crucial infrastructure, the program marked a significant step toward a more resilient and prosperous fisheries sector in Tripura.
