Bombay high court’s Aurangabad bench has granted ad-interim bail to Suresh Patil, Congress leader and chairman of the Aurangabad district central cooperative bank, and three others in a case of allegedly faking and forging documents to contest the election to the post of bank’s director, reports Times of India.

Earlier taking up a complaint made by the former president of the district Congress unit in Aurangabad Gayake, the local court had directed the police to register an offence under various sections of the IPC against four people, including Patil.

Gayake had alleged that Patil had forged documents and submitted a fake no-dues certificate to the authorities, claiming that no institution represented by him owed any dues to the DCC bank. Gayake claimed that Patil was the chairman of the Ramchandra Patil Pressing Cooperative Society, Nagad in 2003, which had obtained Rs 32 lakh loan. But Patil obtained an NOC from the bank officials to contest the bank election, Gayake’s complaint mentioned.

After the offence was registered, Patil was refused bail by sessions judge. And Patil finally approached the High Court and obtained ad-interim bail. The court has placed the next hearing on the criminal application on August 9.
