Assam: National Yuva Co-op Society hosts Co-op Conference

A one-day State Level Conference was organized by the National Yuva Cooperative Society Limited (NYCS) in collaboration with the Department of Cooperation, Government of Assam, focusing on strengthening the cooperative movement and empowering youth across the state.

Assam Cooperation Minister Jogen Mohan attended the conference as Chief Guest and appreciated the efforts of NYCS in promoting cooperatives in Assam.

Krishan Kanta Bora, Organising Secretary, Kisan Sangh, Assam, attended as Guest of Honour.

The conference featured multiple technical sessions covering key areas of the cooperative sector. Sessions included the journey of cooperatives in India, pre-registration training for cooperative members, cooperative management education, bamboo energy farming and the emerging bio-economy, export promotion in the spice sector under the SPICED scheme, opportunities in the handicraft sector, and the importance of agriculture skilling in Assam.

Experts from NCDC, Assam State Cooperative Union, ICM Guwahati, Spice Board of India, and other institutions addressed the participants.
