Two Cooperative Literacy Camps were held in Bamunpara and Barbang Choukhuty villages of Assam’s Bajali district to celebrate the International Year of Cooperatives, media reports say.
Organized under the ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’ initiative by the Ministry of Cooperation with NABARD’s support, the camps aimed to empower newly formed multipurpose PACS and promote rural economic growth.
NABARD collaborated with the Assam Cooperative Apex Bank and NRDA to facilitate four new PACS in Bajali, with camps held at two sites. Key sessions covered PACS roles, NABARD schemes, banking access, and government programs like PMEGP and PMFME.
Financial literacy training further empowered participants with essential savings and borrowing knowledge.
