The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted a successful operation at the APMC Godown in Satlasana, Mehsana district, on January 11, 2025, arresting Kalyanji alias Kalaji Masaji Thakor for accepting a Rs 4,500 bribe, media outlets report.
The operation stemmed from complaints of irregularities in groundnut procurement under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme. Cooperative society members were reportedly demanding bribes of Rs 2,000–Rs 6,000 per vehicle to approve agricultural produce, rejecting non-paying farmers’ crops as substandard.
Acting on credible information, the ACB used a decoy to verify the claims. Kalyanji was caught red-handed accepting the bribe, and the money was recovered on the spot.
