The Government of Andhra Pradesh has announced a series of benefits for employees of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Societies (PACS), ending their recent strike.
Following discussions with employee unions, the state government approved a 20 percent salary increase for PACS staff. Additionally, the gratuity limit increased from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 4 lakh. The government has also decided to implement a comprehensive group health insurance scheme providing Rs 5 lakh coverage for each employee.
The announcement follows several days of protests by PACS employees demanding better pay and service benefits. Since the government acceded to their key demands, employees have called off their agitation.
The decision is expected to boost morale among PACS staff and strengthen the functioning of cooperative credit societies across the state, which play a crucial role in delivering financial services to farmers and rural communities.
