Sahakar Bharati senior leader Satish Marathe met and felicitated Dr Meenesh Shah following his recent reappointment as Chairman of the National Dairy Development Board during a visit to Anand last week.
During the interaction, Marathe expressed satisfaction over NDDB’s active role in reviving and strengthening the cooperative dairy sector in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.
He was also briefed about NDDB’s mission-mode initiative to establish 75,000 new Primary Milk Cooperative Societies at the Gram Panchayat level across the country. NDDB has further committed support to Primary Agricultural Credit Societies interested in starting new dairy verticals.
Marathe said these initiatives, under Dr Shah’s leadership, would significantly expand the footprint of dairy cooperatives and enhance rural incomes.
On behalf of Sahakar Bharati, he assured close coordination with NDDB in setting up new cooperatives and training new members. Prof Rakesh Arrawatia of Tribhuvandas Patel Sahakar University also participated in the discussion.
