Following the appointment of Rabindra Agarwal, IAS, as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Food Corporation of India (FCI), Anand Kumar Jha, Joint Secretary in the Union Ministry of Cooperation, has been given the additional charge of Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS).
Anand Kumar Jha assumed the additional responsibility on January 5 and will continue to hold the charge until the appointment of a new Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies.
The interim arrangement has been made to ensure uninterrupted regulatory oversight and the smooth functioning of the office of the Central Registrar.
The Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies plays a key role in the registration, regulation and supervision of multi-state cooperative societies, making the position critical to the effective functioning of the cooperative sector at the national level.
