Amul ties up with Ramdev’s Patanjali

Amul will buy fodder from Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali for its dairies in Gujarat – a move that may fuel competition in fodder segment, reports Franchise India Bureau.

A source is quoted saying Patanjali has brought a technology from the US to produce corn silage–green fodder derived from corn crop that is known to increase milk yield in cows.

Amul will purchase 10,000 metric tonnes of corn silage from Patanjali’s plant at Himmatnagar in Gujarat in an “initial order” worth Rs 6 crore, claims a source.
