Fulfilling Kurien’s dream of empowering women in every village of India, Andhra Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched an ambitious AP-Amul Paala Velluva through Video Conferencing on Wednesday.

The aim is to get more remuneration to the dairy farmers. The idea of the project was conceived when during padyatra the CM was told that the milk sells at the same rate as water. “I decided to raise the rate Rs by 5-7 per litre’, said the CM.

Interestingly, Jagan Mohan inaugurated the Amul Project in Kondamarripalle GP through FTTH connection given by CSC CVLE Chennakesavulu, Chittoor district, AP.

The project’s first phase commenced in 400 villages of three districts and will be extended to 9,899 villages across the state in a phased manner. Bulk milk cooling units and automated milk collection centres with a total investment of Rs 3,000 crore have been mooted.

GCMMF MD R S Sodhi congratulated the CM and said it is due to his steadfastness that this day has come.
