During the year, more than 8.5 lakh cooperatives across the country were strengthened, reinforcing their role in agriculture, dairy, fisheries, credit and rural livelihoods.

India’s cooperative institutions also made a strong global impact, with Amul securing the top global ranking among cooperatives, while IFFCO was ranked second worldwide, underscoring the international competitiveness of Indian cooperatives. The International Year of Cooperatives was marked through over 15 major national events aimed at awareness-building and stakeholder engagement.

A key highlight was the launch of the National Cooperation Policy 2025, anchored in the vision of Sahkar Se Samriddhi, which outlines a roadmap for inclusive and sustainable cooperative growth.

Landmark initiatives such as Coop-Kumbh 2025 and the establishment of Tribhuvan Sahkari University further strengthened India’s cooperative ecosystem, positioning it for long-term development and global leadership.
