The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which collects over 300 lakh litres of milk daily through its 18,600 village-level cooperatives, is set to achieve a Rs 1 lakh crore turnover this financial year, said Chairman Shamalbhai Patel, media reports say.
GCMMF, the parent body of the Amul brand, currently has a turnover of Rs 90,000 crore. Patel highlighted Amul’s entry into international markets like the US and Spain with fresh milk and plans to expand further in Europe.
At an event in Anand, Union Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the upgraded Khatraj cheese plant and other major expansions worth Rs 365 crore across Amul facilities.
