All co-op banks to be digitalized: NPCI

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has said all co-operative banks in the country would be part of digital transactions by March 2018, reports IANS.

“The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is in the process of being extended to co-operative banks with computerized operations, said NPCI Managing Director. UPI is currently offered by 56 banks in the country.

With the Union government targeting Rs 25 billion digital transactions this financial year, the MD admitted that NPCI has missed the target set for the first quarter.
