At the first foundation day event of the Cooperative Election Authority (CEA), D.K. Singh, Chairperson of the CEA, emphasized the need for aligning the bye-laws and rules of multi-state cooperative societies with the amended Multi-State Cooperative Societies (MSCS) Act to ensure clarity and transparency in the election process.

He stressed that the number of directors to be elected should be clearly defined, along with eligibility criteria for voting in director elections.

Singh underscored that total clarity in bye-laws is essential to maintain democratic control, accountability, and smooth functioning of cooperative societies.

“The synchronization of bye-laws with the amended MSCS Act will eliminate inconsistencies, streamline the election process, and strengthen democratic governance within cooperatives,” Singh stated.
