Expressing deep sorrow over the untimely demise of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and others in a tragic airplane accident, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that the veteran leader would be remembered for his enduring contributions to the cooperative movement and public welfare.
In his condolence message, Birla recalled Ajit Pawar’s long and impactful political career, noting that he also served as a member of the 10th Lok Sabha from Maharashtra’s Baramati parliamentary constituency. He said Pawar played a significant role in strengthening cooperative institutions and advancing the development of Maharashtra.
Birla described the loss as extremely heartbreaking and said Ajit Pawar’s work in the cooperative sector left a lasting imprint on the state’s socio-economic framework.
He prayed for eternal peace for the departed souls and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families, supporters and colleagues, wishing them strength to endure the irreparable loss.
