Income tax raids against the relatives of Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar continued for the second day at various locations. PTI quotes IT officials saying businesses belonging to the Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar and some realtors were raided because they were allegedly involved in tax evasion.
Raids were carried out in Mumbai, Pune, Satara and a few other cities of Maharashtra and Goa.
Officials claim some documents have been recovered and are being studied. The IT dept’s action has triggered speculation in the state’s political circles.
