Following his appointment as Administrator, Siddharth Jain, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, visited the headquarters of the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) on Wednesday.
The visit took place in the second half of the day and marked his first official interaction with the apex cooperative body after assuming the additional responsibility.
During the visit, Jain held a detailed meeting with senior officials of NCUI at the Board Room of the organisation.
The discussions focused on the ongoing activities of NCUI, its role in capacity building, training, and the promotion of cooperative principles across the country. Officials briefed the Administrator on key programmes, institutional initiatives, and future plans aligned with the vision and objectives of the Ministry of Cooperation.
It may be recalled that his appointment has been made following the delay in elections to the apex body and is for a period not exceeding six months. During this tenure, the Administrator will oversee the affairs of the society and facilitate the conduct of elections in accordance with the provisions of the Act and the Rules framed thereunder.
