Adequate Fertilizer stocks in the country: Nadda

Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers J.P. Nadda has assured that the country has sufficient fertilizer stocks and that farmers will receive supplies as per requirement at the right time. Speaking during the Budget Session, he emphasized that the government has made adequate storage arrangements to avoid any shortage during peak agricultural seasons.

Nadda reiterated the Centre’s commitment to ensuring uninterrupted availability of fertilizers across the country, while also promoting balanced use of nutrients. The government, he said, is closely monitoring distribution to ensure farmers get timely access without disruptions or delays.

Meanwhile, in a written reply MoS Anupriya Patel said that the Centre’s Rs 1.77 lakh crore fertilizer subsidy for 2024–25 underscores its continued commitment to affordable farm inputs, but emerging data reveal sharp contrasts across states in consumption patterns, adoption of balanced nutrients, and uptake of new technologies like nano urea.
