Responding to a query regarding the scam-ridden Adarsh Credit Cooperative Society Ltd. (ACCSL), Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah informed that the liquidator currently has no control over ACCSL’s assets.

“All properties, including bank accounts, have been frozen by the Income Tax Authority, Enforcement Directorate (ED), Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan”, he added.

In an effort to recover these assets, the liquidator has filed applications before the Special Court (PMLA) in Jaipur for the restitution of properties attached by the ED and before the NCLT Principal Bench in Delhi for the disgorgement of assets seized by the SFIO.

Additionally, an appeal has been lodged with ITAT-Jodhpur to challenge the Rs 3,400 crore Income Tax demand against ACCSL.

With approximately 18.49 lakh depositors impacted by the crisis, the resolution of this financial scandal remains critical. Authorities are actively working to secure the assets and ensure justice for the affected investors.
