Karnataka based Tumkur Merchants Credit Cooperative has given accidental coverage of Rs 5 lakh each to the kin of two members who recently died in an accident.
The society’s President Dr N S Jayakumar handed the cheque over to their family members on Thursday. These two members belonged to Tumkur District of Karnataka.
Readers would recall that for doing the insurance of its members the society had tied up with ICICI Lombard in the past. The premium of the members is being paid by the society itself.
At present there are about 22k members associated with the society.
