The scion of legendary cooperator Sitaram Ghandat – Sandeep Ghandat has been elected Chairman of Abhyudaya Cooperative Bank in a recently conducted elections and Jessie D’Silva has become the Vice Chairman.
In the elections Sansthapak Panel swept the results and the two-Chairman and Vice Chairman were elected unanimously. Sandeep Ghandat expressed his gratitude to all the members of Board of Directors for voting him as the bank Chairman, according to media reports.
It was Sitaram Ghandat who started Abhyudaya Cooperative Bank with paltry Rs 5000 in the year 1965. And now the UCB is named number four in India.
The story of Ghandat’s life proves how a well-meaning person can do wonders if he has purity of intention. Ghandat was a peon in Maharashtra Assembly once upon a time but later he became MLA in the same Assembly.
