The Integrated Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS) Digital Portal has gone live and 8,411 cooperative societies in Odisha have been onboarded on the National Cooperative Database (NCD), Union Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah informed the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
Shah said the portal was launched on March 6, 2026, and APIs for integration with the NCD are currently under development. District-wise data shows that Puri (756 societies), Cuttack (730), Ganjam (616) and Jagatsinghpur (560) have the highest number of registered cooperatives in the State.
He added that the implementation of the RCS computerisation project is underway in most States and Union Territories, and it is too early to assess measurable improvements in the functioning of RCS offices.
Under the “Computerization of RCS Offices” initiative, about Rs 2.20 crore has been allocated to Odisha, of which Rs 1.49 crore has been released, with around Rs 0.61 crore utilized for software development and related activities.
Additionally, Rs 36.14 crore has been allocated for PACS computerisation in Odisha, with Rs 18.07 crore released so far, which the State has fully utilized, Shah said.
